Voor Nederland gaat er \u20ac 2 miljard verloren in de productieketen en minimaal \u20ac 2,4 miljard aan voedsel dat door de consument wordt verspild*.<\/p>\n<h2>50% minder voedselverspilling in 2030<\/h2>\n<p>De Verenigde Naties (VN) willen wereldwijd de voedselverspilling met 50% verminderen in 2030. Dit is het 12e Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoel (<a href=\"https:\/\/unric.org\/nl\/duurzame-ontwikkelingsdoelstellingen\/sdg-12\/\">SDG12<\/a>) die de VN met elkaar hebben afgesproken. De landbouwministers van de Europese Unie (EU) hebben deze doelstelling overgenomen. Ze hebben afspraken gemaakt om voedselverspilling tegen te gaan. Van een bijproduct als varkenshaar bijvoorbeeld worden kwasten en borstels gemaakt. Botten van dieren leveren grondstof voor lijm, gelatine en knopen. Dierlijk vet is grondstof voor de olie- en vetindustrie (zeep) en voor de productie van biodiesel.<\/p>\n<p>In de voedselverwerkende industrie is het belangrijk dat deze stromen hygi\u00ebnisch getransporteerd zodat ze nog verder verwerkt kunnen worden. Afval wordt grondstof. Dit levert niet alleen geld, maar vooral ook een positief imago op (duurzaam).
